2013 is the 25th Year of the Mighty Satanic Verses. The Verses formed in 1989 and have been wreaking havoc in the OUSA social competition ever since. Along with being a regular feature at the top of the OUSA comp the Verses have competed at the Balfour 7's on multiple occasions finishing second on at least two occasions as well as proving ample entertainment at the event with the introduction of the fat mans 100 during the final. The Verses hit national media headlines in the early 2000's with their vocal support for their beloved Southland Stags retention in Division 1 of the NPC. Their crusade against Rock Presenter and Counties Supporter Simon Doull saw Doully forced to wear a Stags Jersey in rush hour traffic in down town Auckland.
